金 若 兰

Ruolan Jin, an emerging Artist from China, was born in Nanjing in 1995 and graduated from the University of Edinburgh (MFA) in 2020. She is the founder of Ruoland Art Studio.

From 2017 to 2019, Ruolan has collaborated with Oxford University Museum of Natural History and Museum of East Asian Art in Bath, UK.

In 2020, Ruolan Jin ’s artwork ‘Words Unspoken’ has been collected by Google Art& Culture.

Since 2021, Ruolan Jin has engaged in a collaborative partnership with the Nanjing Museum, where she meticulously crafts illustrations depicting the museum's treasured collections. These illustrations are then transformed into exquisite postcards, prominently featured at the museum's official souvenir boutique.

Ruolan's artwork is whimsical and profound, rich with philosophical metaphors and layered storytelling. Her delicate strokes often conceal a grand and contemplative worldview,  inviting viewers to uncover meaning through quiet introspection. With fluid lines and symbols, Ruolan carefully portrays the souls beneath the silent surfaces, turning ephemeral moments into fragments of eternity.

Ruolan’s signature series, Isles of Solitude , interprets the vast solitude of humanity and the resonance between souls, articulated through a philosophical language of symbols.

‘ To decipher the symbolic metaphors behind the reality;

To tell the stories beneath the silent surfaces ;

To discover the isle inside one’s soul.’

Art is One Soul’s Tale,

Yet Deeply Hidden that Words Won’t Tell.
